This week Adam Richman went to Alaska. The first stop was at a place called Roadhouse in Talkeetna. The restaurant started as a real roadhouse that provided prospectors a place to eat sleep and gather. Adam tried the roadhouse standard which is scrambled eggs (they only make scrambled eggs) bacon, homefries, and homemade honey wheat toast. Adam also added a sour dough hot cake. They even make homemade apple butter. My grandmother used to make homemade apple butter and let me tell you it is out of this world.
Next Adam went to the West Rib Cafe and Pub which was named after a treacherous route in Mt. McKinley. Adam tried a 4 1/2 lb. burger made of ham, bacon, cheese and caribou. The burger was constructed of two 1 lb. caribou patties, a toasted sour dough bun on the grill, 6 pieces of American, six pieces of Swiss, 6 pieces of bacon, a lb. of ham, a sauce made out of mayonnaise, bacon, and balsamic vinaigrette, caramelized onions, lettuce and tomato. Every burger comes with a lb. of fries. Adam said the caribou is lean but not gamey.
Adams final stop was in Anchorage at restaurant called Humphy’s to attempt the 6-pound Kodiak Arrest challenge. It is a 6 lb. 7 coarse sampling that consists of Seven 2 oz. salmon cakes, 3 lbs. of Alaskan king crab (looks so delicious) and a footlong reindeer sausage , topped off with sauteed vegetables and mashed potatoes plus dessert. Adam had 90 min. to finish. One of the problems is it takes a long time to deshell 3 lbs. of crab legs. Adam started off tearing into the reindeer sausage and potatoes then he took on the salmon cakes. Adam started to struggle with the crab at the 30 minute mark but he finished the crab. The challenge wasn’t completed though, Adam still had to eat a lb. of ice cream but he did it! He was the first to finish the challenge and he finished it in 47 min.

No problem! Man v. Food is my stuff and I enjoy writing about it. Go Adam go!
Great Restaurants, beautiful locations, what a waste of good food.
He is a funny character and probably brings business to these establishments. However, with so many families not knowing where or if there next meal will be from??? The timing for this show is a bit off.
@Andrew
you will always have famine and poverty however, I do see where you are coming from. Maybe they should have a charity organization to donate food to the needy.
@Andrew.
Chill. Great show. Love it.
The author of boredhole.com has written an excellent article. You have made your point and there is not much to argue about. It is like the following universal truth that you can not argue with: A Hermit never has peer pressure. Thanks for the info.
